The Tough Mudder Challenge

When Charis first stepped back into the gym in 2020, her goal was simple – get moving again! After a bus crash in 2013 left her with ongoing hip issues, she’d been cautious with her training. But fast forward to now and she’s squatting over 80kg, leg pressing more than 240kg, and approaching every workout with determination (and a whole load of questionable chat!).
In June 2024, Charis decided to push herself out of her comfort zone. She, along with the Munro Fit team, signed up for Tough Mudder! This is someone who hates mud, heights, and being cold and soaking wet… so why? Because she wanted to prove to herself she could do something she’d never imagined possible!
Thanks to the effort she puts in during her PT sessions and her regular attendance at outdoor classes (which more than prepared her for the joys of Scottish weather!), the fitness side of the challenge was never in doubt. And she didn’t stop there — she even conquered the Monkey Bars at the gym after I set her a challenge, showing the same grit she carried onto the Tough Mudder course!
Charis smashed every obstacle, laughed through the mud, and crossed the finish line with a huge smile (even while shivering uncontrollably!). She’s living proof that with the right mindset — and a bit of training in the rain — you can take on challenges that once felt impossible!
She loved it so much, we went and did it again in 2025! Who's in for the 2026 team...?
